Gramophoney Baloney
Hi Gramophoney Baloney listeners,
I have really enjoyed being able to produce a weekly show on Radio Valencia over the past 15 months (past episodes podcasted here & blogged here).
I have been funding these out of my own pocket as a labor of love.
Radio Valencia is a non-commercial station, whose only source of income to cover its operational costs, is contributions from its DJs, who are all unpaid volunteers like me.
Each show I do costs me $9+ in travel expenses, and a $9+ donation to the station towards its operating expenses. Currently, I am not in a financial position to continue meeting these costs to do the show, and will probably have to cancel it unless I can get some listener support.
If you like the show, and would like it to continue, please consider making a financial contribution, to ensure that it does.
You can do this by going to the top left corner of the radiovalencia.fm homepage, below where it says “SUPPORT”, and click on the orange-colored “Donate” icon.
Please mark any paypal transactions as “Gramophoney – Gift” so that the station’s comptroller knows what they’re for. The comptroller has also sent me the following:
"make sure the language on your instructions says "Personal" tab and "Other" check box"
If 12-24 people each contribute $5-$10, that will cover my station expenses for the next three months, and I will cover my travel expenses myself.
I’m asking for $5 to $10, because the station’s financial comptroller informed me that less than $5 makes too much accounting work, and I think more than $10 is too much for one individual to pay.
Contributions are non-tax-deductable, and non-refundable.
If you can help, you can consider yourself an honorary Gramophoney Baloney patron/member/subscriber/sponsor/benefactor!
Sincerely yours,
D.J.McSchmormac
P.S. Please ignore this message if you were a past guest on the show, are someone who donated some fantastic pre-1951 recordings to the show, attended any of the live events during the year, are a Radio Valencia volunteer, or are an extended-family-member, you’ve already done more than enough!
